Because they try to enforce a one-size-fits-all lifestyle that is not for everybody. If my memory doesn't fail me, that's Ray Franz diagnostic in "In search ..." and I agree completely. Some people are strong enough to say "enough is enough" and leave for good, even thinking that JW "have the truth". I did that myself after a year in a emotional rollercoaster; only four years later I found "the truth about the truth". But my sister, for instance, is not emotionally strong enough to break away completely, and has been in and out for fifteen years. I think this problem affects both men and women, but somehow men seem to be able to cope better with it.
